Fine Carved Elephant Ivory Cane The elegant L-shaped handle on this cane has a band of dots carved into the elephant ivory that begins at the collar on one side and spirals around the elbow of the L to continue along the handle on the opposite side. The handle is 4 in. wide and1.25 in/ high. There is a .75 in. gold filled collar with "Chas. B. Fiego" engraved on it. The sturdy malacca shaft ends in a steel ferrule. Minor drying cracks in ivory. Overall length, 35.5 in. |

A stylish French Art Nouveau handle combining a porcelain knob with a long, cylindrical shaft, both with rich gold plated settings. The porcelain knob itself is 2 in. high, beautifully painted in the Mucha style with a woman's head in profile, framed by a crown of five leafed clover and set in a richly chased, cup like, gilt mount. the plain ivory part is adorned with ten applied , gitl collar rings, all stamped AB DOUBLE. This exceptionaaal handle is from the ending 19th century and in excellent condition; it was recently mounted on a custom made and appropriate, delicate ebony shaft with horn ferrule. Overall length 33 3/4 in. |
