#2611
A decorative European town cane with a horn handle and an ebonized hardwood
shaft with slim horn collar and ferrule. Of a conventional crook shape, the
4 1/2 in. wide and 3 1/2 in. high handle consists of a plain body fashioned
of dark material and a lighter colored front cap in the shape of a dog head.
The animal head itself is enlivened by well adjusted blond ears and two inset
glass eyes. This elegant cane is from the period around 1900 and conceived
to be, with its size and balanced weight, the ideal companion for the strolling,
perfect gentleman. It survived intact and still can give a lot of pleasure
for any person in need for faithful support. Overall length 35 3/4 in. |
