#2614 A dual purpose smoker's cane with a white metal knob on its real malacca shaft with horn ferrule. Fashioned in a slender and plain shape, the knob is slightly over 2 in. high and fitted with a hardly noticeable door trap, which covers a deep cigarette container. Hinged, the cover opens at 90 degrees and locks with an almost flush fit by friction. Simple and efficient and above all unobtrusive, this practical cane easily leads, with its unsophisticated construction, that it was manufactured by a skilled private person for his own pleasure. It is a relic from the early age of the cigarette with apparent signs to enable a dating around 1900, and is most likely American.Overall length 33 1/2 in.
